The 16 teams selected to compete in the inaugural Game Changer Challenge in Education Week have been announced. Superfast scooters to transport students between classes, time travel excursions to key moments in history, sustainable schools that are self-sufficient in power, water and food and real-time brain scans to track student learning and wellbeing. 'One Week More' - Teacher Act 2017

‘One Week More' is a parody of the song ‘One Day More' from Les Miserables. This was a surprise act that was performed by the teachers of Connells Point Public School at our school's annual Performing Arts Showcase. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. Last week the Connells Point Debating Team A participated in the Sydney Primary School's Debating Competition Grand Final. The team debated against Beverly Hills Public School. The topic was that Organ Donation Should Be Compulsory. The team debated the affirmative for this topic. The team conducted themselves with poise and maturity, both with their arguments and rebuttals, however, they unfortunately were not successful in winning the competition. This means they are 2nd from 76 teams, which is a fantastic effort.... Read more

NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. It provides an opportunity for schools to become familiar with the NAPLAN Online assessment platform but is not an assessment of student ability.... Read more

This week one of our lovely CPPS chickens began laying eggs! Very soon we will begin selling the eggs, to raise money to continue to pay for the upkeep of our coop and garden area. Staff Development Day

Every year staff are involved in ongoing professional development. This occurs on Wednesday afternoons, pupil free days and once a year on a Saturday. For this year's Saturday Staff Development day, Connells Point Public School staff came together with two other local schools and were fortunate to have a guest speaker attend, Steve Francis. Staff gain a lot from these sessions and use this knowledge to support students in their learning.... Read more
